GAD sponsors Eid’ l Fitr celebration

         The school celebrated   with our Muslim brothers and sisters the feast of breaking the Fast, Eidl Fitr by staging a program on July 8, 2016 at the mid-covered court. The theme of the celebration was ‘’The Role of the Muslim Women in strengthening Muslim Culture’’. The program began at 8:00 in the morning with an opening prayer given by Mr.Fouadz H.Yusop in Muslim language. Shortly after, was the singing of the Philippine National Anthem sang by the KIT Chorale Society.

       The purpose of holding the event is to achieve greater understanding and harmony among the students of different cultural backgrounds. Mr.Renerio P.Pardillo Head of Instructions for Core Competencies warmly inspired the audience in his opening remarks by telling them the significance of Eid ‘l Fitr celebration to the Muslim faith.    Pardillo also stressed in his message   that it is the time of  spiritual renewal and the time to give in charity to those in need like rice, barley and many more.

       Mr.Abbas Abdulhamid Abdulrazak President, of Arabic Education & Development, Zamboanga Sibugay was the guest speaker of the event. His speech was focused in the attitude and behaviour of a Muslim.  He also clarified the good and pious deeds of the Muslim particularly to the needy. As gesture of thanks for responding the invitation the OIC-VSA III Greta D.Sabroso Ed.D. assisted by Mr. Renerio P.Padillo gave the Certificate of Appreciation to the guest speaker  .

      The program was sponsored by Gender and Development (GAD).  Free snacks were given to the KIT faculty, personnel and students. The program was attended approximately by 970 students from different TVET qualifications. The advisers and the teaching personnel wholeheartedly supported the event particularly in monitoring the attendance and the behaviour of the students.    The success of the program will not be possible without the outstanding support of the administration headed by the OIC-VSAIII Greta D. Sabroso Ed.D.  The program was brought to a close by the GAD focal Mrs. Edna G. Chiong
